Local businessman, Roger Gay, will share MC duties with Courtney

Beall Thomas at the 20^th Milam Settlers Day festival. On stage all day

on Saturday, the masters of ceremony will be introducing great

entertainment, announcing winners, and giving out information.

Sabine County Native to MC at Milam Settlers Day

 

Courtney Beall Thomas is the daughter of Carl and Vicki Beall of Hemphill.

She is the granddaughter of C.A. Beall and Betty Spurlock, and the great

granddaughter of Arvid and Belva Beall, all past residents of Milam. Her

maternal grandparents, Lindy and Nadine Gary, reside in Sabine County

also. She graduated from Hemphill HS in 1991, from ETBU in 1995 and

is currently the HS counselor at Elysian Fields HS. She and her husband,

Chip, have 3 daughters, Presley is 16 and their twins, Amy and Abby are 10.

Weldon McDaniel, Local Historian

Weldon McDaniel, devotes most of his time to Things Historical

.

The 57-year resident of Sabine County adds member of the Sabine

County Historical Commission, Sabine County Preservationist, Sabine

County coordinator of the local Preserve America Cemetery Project,

History Center manager, 37-year Texas Public Educator, author of six

cemetery books, and serious birdwatcher to his resume. Weldon will

provide colorful tidbits and documented facts about Sabine County’s

history from the stage throughout the day on Saturday.
