Fundraising for the 23rd. Annual Milam Settlers Day has begun with two contestants competing for the title of "Milam's Little Pioneer." One will be crowned during festivities on Saturday, Nov. 21.
Contestants are Natalie Grace Persky and Jennifer Merrill.
Natalie Grace Persky is the 2-year-old daughter of Amber and Scott Persky of Milam. Her grandparents are Helen and Amos Hanzel of Milam and Shelly and Scott Persky of Many, LA. Natalie's hobbies are watching her favorite cartoons, playing with her three brothers, jumping on the trampoline, and riding her tricycle.
Jennifer Merrill is the daughter of Patricia and Jeff Snodgrass of Hemphill, TX. Jennifer has two brothers and two sisters and is an honor roll third grader at Hemphill Elem. School. She is a very energetic girl who loves to work outside with her mom and dad. When she is not helping her parents, she likes to play and spend time with friends and family.
Please support your candidate by participating in the various fund raising events that each one has planned. The contestants and their families are also selling raffle tickets for the grand prize drawings: a Pelican two-man fishing boat, and a Henry Golden Boy 30./30 rifle, as second prize. Prizes will be given away on Saturday, Nov. 21, at the close of Milam Settlers Day Weekend.
The annual two-day event is set for Friday and Saturday, Nov. 20 and 21, at El Camino Park in Milam.
